My trip to Fall Creek Falls.

In August of this year my Grandma, Grandpa, my brother Andrew, and I went camping at Fall Creek Falls State Park.  We went to catch fish, but we only caught a few fish that were big enough to eat.  While we were there we did a lot more than just fishing though, we saw all three of the falls and did a lot more! 

 The first day wasn't a full day so we didn't do much.  We set up the camper and rode are bikes for a little and we ate dinner at the park restaurant and that was pretty much our day.  We went fishing the next day.  Then we saw one of the falls, and on the hike to get there we went across a long swinging bridge, it was really fun!  One day we were going to the big pool to swim but it was closed :-(  so we went to the swimming hole but we couldn't swim there either :-(  so we went  to the small pool and finally got to swim :-) 

We also played ping pong at the rec center, that was fun!  We did a few of the hiking trails they have. Over the cane creek cascades is another swinging bridge! it was long too. There is one trail that is called the Cable Trail, it is a very challenging trail, it's like rock climbing.  You have to hold on to a metal cable while on the trail and at the bottom is Cane Creek Falls.  It is my favorite trail that I've ever done!  

On the last day we were there my family came and we celebrated Grandma's birthday.  Overall I had a reeeeeeally great time!  I hope you will be able to go to Fall Creek Falls soon. 

A visit to the YMCA

I went to the Y with my friend Zachary.  When we got there we went to the gym to play basketball and we played HORSE I came in second and his mom came in first.  After that Zachary and I went to the locker room and changed into our swim shorts and went out to the pool.  We got sunscreen on and it was break time for kids.  After ten minutes of waiting we got in the pool.  After 15 minutes Zachary took the test, the test is... 
You have to swim from the ten feet end to the three feet end. 
And he passed.  If you pass the test you get to slide down the big slide. I took the test and I passed to! The slide was really fun, I'm glad I took the test.

My first season of basketball

This year I was in 5th grade and it was my first season of basketball. 

I had a lot of fun in my first season. 

On Monday practices I didn't like it because I just got out of school and then I had to go to practice right after that.  

At the beginning of the season when I was in the game, as soon as I got the ball, I passed the ball immediately and didn't dribble it because I was scared to. I thought I would mess up. But in one of the last games of the season I got fouled.  I shot the first free throw, annnnd I made it! On the inside I leaped for joy, because that was my first time scoring. 

Here are my stats: 3 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, and I didn't foul out.

My friend Kris got 10 points, I think, and my friend Evan got 18 points.  The reason Evan got 18 points is because he was a post player in one game.  Overall I had an awesome time.

My Poem

The other day I made up a poem but it has no name - here it is:

         I know some Tates who open up the floodgates,

         who know some people who are always late 

         which includes Mr. Yate, 

         he's always late, never early 

         and he's never been to Dr. Gurly.

Anne Frank part 2

Continued from part 1

All the sudden they heard Nazi soldiers at the door of the Annex.  At that moment the door flung open and the Franks were caught.  

So after that they were sent to concentration camp and they were split up into groups, women on one side and men on the other, and those small groups were split up also, into girls and ladies, boys and men.  So in other words the Franks were split up for a couple of years! 

 And it's sad to say that none of the Franks survived accept for Mr. Frank, Anne's Dad.  He came home expecting a family reunion but he didn't see them because they had died :( .  Anne was only 14 or 15 when she died but she lived her life well.

Anne Frank

I love reading books in general but I really like biographies.  Recently I read the biography Who Was Anne Frank.  She was a girl that lived in Germany at the time of  WW2, and in that time Adolf Hitler was ruler. Now Anne was Jewish and Hitler hated Jews, so that was a problem for Anne.  After a while it got so bad that Jews couldn't see movies, plays, and had to be inside at a certain time at night!  They feared they would go to a concentration camp, so they finally had to go into hiding when Anne was only 13!  The hideout was called the Secret Annex, cool right?  It was not so cool if you were in it. They had to be really quiet during business hours because they were above offices, and they couldn't cook during the day, so not so cool.  A year passed by and all the sudden at the door of the Annex they heard Nazi soldiers uh-oh!
